Purolator® Hi-E® 40 medium efficiency pleated air filters are designed for long life and high-performance in demanding HVAC and process air applications. Purolator® uses sophisticated production control techniques to ensure consistent pleat count, height, shape and spacing. This uniform spacing contributes to a better-performing pleat with low pressure drop and full depth dust loading. The filter design utilizes double wall thickness around the outer edge and integral die-cut cross members, which provides strength and rigidity and prevents delaminating, excessive buckling, collapsing, racking, warping and bending. Additionally, the galvanized steel metal grid resists rust, maintains pleat shape and prevents fluttering for performance in even the harshest environments. The frame is bonded with the media pack using high strength, 100% water repellent adhesive and provides 50% more contact points between the media pack and the frame. The 4 in model also use die-cut finger separators to stabilize each pleat. Filter media is made from 100% synthetic fibers and achieves a mechanical efficiency rating of MERV 8 3 8 before and after a conditioning step. The filters can be utilized in virtually any air handling application, including as a final filter or as a pre-filter in multi-stage systems.
